When I heard the rumors of 256gb base memory size with $100 price hike, I didn’t like it, but thought oh well 128gb memory was getting tight and started to justify it.

Now, 256gb memory is optional and I’m torn. $100 extra for the memory alone isn’t an easy to pill to swallow For me.

I am curious too.. don’t need the 256 GB, but might potentially wanna record prores videos (in full resolution) in the future.
Does anyone know whether 4k is still limited to the higher tier models? I thought the possibility of recording directly to an external ssd drive via USB-C might eliminate this requirement.

Will make my decision based on that. Anyway, my iPhone X absolutely needs an upgrade!

Currently using 50GB out of 128GB on both my 14+ and 14PM.

Not sure with how frequent phones get changed if I need more than that....

No longer the case.

You can record 4K 60FPS ProRes even on a 14 Pro Max with 256GB storage, you just need a Filmic Pro to do so ;)

In terms of space on the phone, the availability of 5G and iCloud Photos really helps, because you can essentially offload memory instantly through the cloud.
