Considering getting a pair of Apple Airpods Pro, but since I've not had any wireless in-ear pods before I'm a bit worried a) about dropping/losing them, and b) if I'm actually will feel comfortable with the form factor.

So, what I often do before committing to a (relatively) expensive purchase is testing the concept with a cheaper option. And browsing I came over Argon Audio IE20, which are on offer for just over a quarter of the price of the Airpods. Figured those could be a nice way to try if wireless pods/buds are for me. :)

Has anybody tried the Argons with an iPhone? Do they work with the phone tucked away in your jeans pockets?

Has anybody tried those AND the Airpods Pro? Are they comparable in size/wear? (And the real question: Can the Airpods really justify their 3 to 4 times higher price?)

Apple has a fairly decent return policy. usually 14 days, but anything from now through Christmas can be returned through Jan 8.
And not sure if it's happening again post covid, but pre-covid they would let you try on in store, so you could get a feel/listen before buying

I have large ear holes, and most of apple's other options don't stay in my ears, the large tips for the APPs almost work for me, but I use third party tips from comply, they are foam, and give me a better fit, although the foam breaks down, and I have to replace them every few months. They also fit in the charging case, unlike some other third party options.

there's no real way to tell how those will fit compared to apples, it's fairly dependent on the shape of your ears. Fit will also depend on the size of the tip you choose, as well as what they're made of.

I'd suggest trying the AirPods in store if possible, If you can't, just buy them, try them for a week or 2, and if they don't work for you, return them. If you go the other way, you'll pay full price for 2 pairs of headphones, instead of just one.

You can usually find them for $50 off ($199), but some have had them for $189. (not from apple, so check the return policy). And Black Friday is coming, so you may find deals, although apple does a lot of full price, with a gift card "refund"
