I've been a Mac User since the days of Plus, now using OS 11.3.1 on a MacBook Pro, and am really frustrated.

I can be browsing on Safari or whatever, and I think my palm grazes the touchpad, and then it's like a rug was pulled out from under me, the tab I'm working on and everything else open goes into an arrangement on my desktop, which is, I think, Mission Control. I have never been able to figure out how to configure my settings for this not to happen. Any suggestions?

That's not Mission Control, that's the tab overview in Safari and I don't think you can activate that, just by simply grazing the touchpad. Sure you didn't accidentally clicked on the button for the tab overview?

It's triggered by a pinch zoom (or what safari interprets as one) I do it accidentally sometimes too, though not enough I'd call it a serious annoyance.

Bingo!! Thank you....I went to System Prefs, Trackpad, and disabled pinch zoom. I'm more than happy to do command-+ and command-minus for zoom...!
