.............with the icon for the "photos" app.
When I opened it, it was a montage of many of my photos that I took throughout
the month of October.
I have no idea where this came from, and don't want to see it happen again.
I can't find it now to reproduce it or try to determine its origin.
It's as though it appeared, and now is gone.
It's nothing that I solicited.
Could it have something to do with signing up for iCloud+ recently?

I would assume that it is a compilation done by the Photos app on your phone. So not particularly nefarious. I don't see why it would have been triggered by iCloud+. Can you see that compilation or other similar ones in the Photos app > For You tab?

Yes, thank you, it is in the "For You" tab.
I hadn't thought to look there.
It came as a surprise to me as I have never seen this happen before in the nearly 1 year that I've had the phone.
The phone is my first "smart phone" and even after a year I'm still learning how to use it. 🤪
This "For You" just came as a surprise to me, but now that I have a clue as to its origin I can look into
what it's all about.
Thanks again!

Happy to help. Also look at Settings > Notifications > Photos. You may want to keep notifications on, but take off the part that allows notifications on the lock screen. I personally feel that very few apps should notify to the lock screen. Their notifications can wait until I'm using my phone again.

I appreciate the help.
Any idea on why it took 11 months before this occurred?
There are no other files in the "For You" tab.
That's why I connected it to the iCloud+ purchase, which was just made a few days ago.
I think that may be a distinct possibility.

I’m not sure why it took so long for you to get the first one. It is a feature of the Photos app and there’s nothing suspicious about it. I don’t know how it’s enabled what triggers it. I’ve had it many times on my various iPhones over the years. I guess it doesn’t really bother me so I’ve never looked into how to disable it.

Not knowing that it was a feature, it took me by surprise.
And by & large, I'm not real fond of surprises! 🤨
Now that I know it's a feature, I'm not alarmed about it.
However, now I MUST find out how to disable it if possible, whether I do so or not. 😅
