ASO: trying to free up disk space on webserver

i was noticing today that my webspace with a small orange has gotten pretty full - i discovered that my mail directory off of my main directory has got about 850MB of stuff in it, most of that being in mail/new and mail/cur. inside of those directories are hundreds of files that look like :

11729928886.H244324P18866.pickett.asmallorange.com:2,

can i safely delete these? any mail i need i have downloaded to my mac already.

I would suspect yes, but have you asked them the same question?
