ASP on mac

Hey everyone,

For work i have to make a site in ASP.
At home i have only a MAC.
Is it possible to program in ASP in dreamweaver and view the results of it in a browser local (at the moment it doesnt do it)? Do i have to install extra software for it?
I dont want to stall a windows version on my MAC.

But being commercial, and expensive, it probably isn't what you're looking for.

ASP or ASP .NET?

Frankly I would have thought the easiest solution would be to get a copy of Windows, you can use the OEM editions which aren't expensive. But I have only done a little ASP .NET and that is on Windows.

EDIT: As its for work you want 100% compatibility, do it on Windows.

At the moment it is still the good old ASP.
I have watched those sites... but i don't see anything that says it can work on mac.

For ASP.net there is mono but for the good old ASP I'm not sure but you need IIS and it doesn't work on OSX.

I guess the only solution is installing Fusion+XP. SORRY ABOUT THAT

You don't need IIS for ASP. There's a port to Apache (as well as Chilisoft's commercial product). But how complete an ASP implementation is it? I have no idea.

Probably best to just suck it up and run XP virtually.

The whole point of asp and asp .NET is to tie all web development and deployment to the Windows platform. So there will probably never ever be an easy way to do it on Mac.

This is what all Microsoft technologies try to achieve because they are a commercial company. Exchange successfully ties email to Windows and Direct X ties games to Windows.

Hopefully stupid ASP dies a death on the web. I'm fine with Microsoft keeping the .NET framework for Windows Program development if they like (just as long as I don't have to use those programs). The web shouldn't be owned by one company.
