Assassins Creed Gamepad Fix

Downloaded Assassins Creed 1 for mac which runs fine, the game supports the xbox360 controller which I downloaded a driver for (mac) and works fine. I plugged the controller in and in the game controls menu the controller is detected, but when I leave the menu to play the game none of the buttons work?

The controller works fine with other games, but no luck with Assassins Creed. Does anyone have Assassins Creed 2 which I'd assume supports the xbox360 gamepad also, maybe it works on that one.

Anyone have any luck with this issue?

Did a mistake and downloaded AC: Brotherhood. I got the same problem - the game recognizes my 360 controller, but in the game - only keyboard, which is impossible to play. That's why I didn't get also FIFA 12 - didn't want to get stuck with a game I couldn't play!
