Assassin's Creed on Aluminum Macbook (Vista in Bootcamp)

Hi,
Does anyone know if Assassin's Creed will be playable on the low end aluminum macbook (2 GB RAM, GeForce 9400M, 256 MB shared Graphics RAM) in Vista Bootcamp? Will it even be compatible with the graphics card? The macbook is not quite up to basic system requirements, but the single statement i've read from someone indicated it was playable.

I believe AC uses a modified Unreal3 engine and all of the other U3 engine games work fine on the 9400M - with modified settings depending on the game of course... Gears1, UT3, Mass Effect, Mirrors Edge, Etc all run on the Unibody MacBook's and usually at native resolution per most posts but, not at high quality settings or anything (as would be expected on most laptops).

I don't have the PC version to test myself but, I'd say it should run adequately under Bootcamp on your AluBook. As is standard when playing any game on a laptop, you may need to lower the default resolution and/or in-game quality settings to get better (playable) framerates. The places to start would be AA (off) and HDR lighting (maybe change to "Bloom" if it's an option). Regardless, I think you should be able to find a "happy medium" to play this on your MacBook.


*Edit: After looking over the specs, the AluBook meets the minimum system requirements just fine. The minimum CPU required is a 2.6Ghz Pentium D. The Core2Duo in the Unibodys and newer MacBooks is significantly faster than this chip despite the difference in Ghz.

yes it run's i have 4 GB of ram not sure if that will make a difference since the video card uses some of your ram

seems to run pretty smooth but not at high settings of course

i'd max your RAM out to 4 gb just to cover your bases
