Assign Text to a Key

Is there a way within Mountain Lion to assign my email address to a key which I can then use in either Safari or Chrome and if not, is there any freeware available that will allow me to do this?

I've noticed that this doesn't work everywhere. For instance, it's not working for me in the messages app. I have @@ set to input my email address. I tried it in text edit and it works, chrome works as well. Hmm doesn't seem to work in Safari trying to sign into my gmail.
