I'll start off the proceedings, since I'm here anyway. :)

I took this in Brisbane last August (ie: in 2006), at one of the buildings beside the pier.

RI -> CA -> ME
Taken November 9th, 2002 during a big storm in Santa Cruz, CA.
The dark thing in the water is a tree trunk, about 4' in diameter and 15-20' long. It was getting tossed around like a cork.
It got thrown a flight and a half up that staircase, taking out the metal railing.

Taken in May 2007, Callan Blanes hotel beach Menorca, the only photoshop work that has been done is contrast/saturation adjustments and a border added.

Wow there are great lines in your photo M@lew. That shot is great. I love the high contrast as well it really adds to the over all photo. The composition is also really well done. I give you 5 apples for this one. :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple:

Yeah, I like lines a lot. This is essentially what this thread has been about so far, and it's not a surprise, really. Lines are cool, especially diagonal lines.

Here's one taken in Oslo over Easter, the steps leading up to the central statue in Vigelands Park.

I just don't see how the Turkeys run up those things!

I've seen turkeys perch on power lines

And now for my contribution for photos taken before June 8th...

Can you give a noob a link to said 'rules' in the OP?

Would be nice to voluntarily include Exif data & such (camera, lens----specific brand/model attributes, shutter/aperature speed, exact focal length, time/place details of lighting, weather/shadows/clouds, early morning, high noon...any difficulties in taking the image because of either limitations of camera or circumstances). All the 'metadata' really helps sometimes to understand how or why the image was captured. Helps to understand and learn about the camera and how conditions impair or affect one's success or failure in capturing the image, or mindset/motivation/mood of the author ;).

You mean applespider's set of rules, for Assignments?

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/195714/

I should also mention, it is always helpful to mention any PP you've done to the image, and if you like post a copy/link to of the original image, should someone like to request an explanation of what tweaks you did (not that you're obligated to do either, just if you feel like it).

I know, most are too lazy to do all of that, it's a hassle. But in that information/knowledge is power, we wish to empower people with the knowledge to take better pictures :)

Taken several years ago, the first is actually an attempt at a sea gull portrait.:p

The second was after some hurricane came through town, which one I can't recall. (I live in Florida.)

Both were taken with a Kodak p+s, I played with levels, contrast, and saturation until it looked right. Most originals that came out of the Kodak ez-share look washed out and dull.

This was taken last December at the Vatican Museum in Rome. It's the view down the double spiral staircase from the exit.

Okay, folks...first one of many.

I don't think I've shown this one before...its a staircase inside of a sunken ship.

The rest of the following sequence are also scanned 35mm, from the Andes in Peru in 2004. All the WA shots were done with a 19-35mm Tokina lens on a Canon Elan IIe.
