Just upgraded from the iPhone 8 to 11 & first time using Face ID and not having the home button.

What do I do now for apps like my banking app and others that previously used the fingerprint to log-in?

Also, on the lock screen it shows the flashlight on the right and camera on the left - are these here permanently or is there a way to remove them?

Log into the bank app like you normally would with user and pass, and then go to settings in the app and allow Face ID. Other apps that don’t require extra security like finance based apps etc. will automatically start using Face ID in place of Touch ID. You shouldn’t have to do anything extra.

What about Apple Pay?

The majority of things, in my own experience, which did use TouchId, will automatically transition to FaceID. But there’s no harm in opening each of your apps which did use it, and checking the settings under the apps security menu.

As for the flashlight and camera buttons, you’re stuck with those as far as I know.
