Very cool but I have a few concerns. Battery life estimates are pretty poor, leading me to believe we're not talking about a Haswell generation GPU. Also, it's only using Android 4.2.2 and we don't even know when it's going to be available. And 13"+ is pretty damn big for a tablet.

The Transformer Book Trio has caught my eye previously and if I was looking into a device like this, I think I'd lean toward the 11" Trio. Just my preference, of course.

Don't really get the idea of this. Why would I need android on my laptop when I am already running Windows....

I can see someone liking the idea of having an Android tablet for fun and then a windows 8.1 laptop for work. Problem is Asus sucks at hardware and QA and I will never buy another product from them again. Gave them 2 chances. They struck out twice.

But windows allows you to run all the fun stuff, and is now much better at battery life too. Still don't get why android is needed on the laptop.

Didn't know it was... whats the life expectancy?

5 hrs in Windows, 6 hrs in Android.

Considering it has the same size battery as the 11" Macbook Air (yes, I know, larger display and more pixels in the Duet), I'd consider that sub par. Let's hope real world testing shows it can outperform those estimates as the latest MBA has done.

Then why is battery life so abysmal?

It has 38 Wh battery for appx. 5-6 hours compared to 13.3" Macbook Air's battery 54Wh lasts about 10 hrs with lower resolutions (1920x1080 vs 1440x900). I wouldn't call it "abysmal". It's just smaller battery.

The 13" MBA estimated battery life is 12 hrs, not 10, with some accounts stating it's even better than that.

I'll agree that 'abysmal' was a little too strong--maybe underwhelming would've been a better choice. Considering so many new devices equipped with the new Haswell gen. CPUs are showing significant increases in battery life vs. previous generations, it's going to be a tough sell vs. the 8-11 hrs being advertised elsewhere. Heck, Asus' own Book T100 gets an estimated 11 hours with only a 31Wh battery (and again, I realize it's not an apples to apples comparison).
