So I went to update to the iPhone 3.0 GM this morning... all was going well up until activation. Itunes popped up the activation window, the one you get when you first activate the iPhone with AT&T. I fill in al the info and it goes to activate......it gives we an "activating: this should take 3 mins" window.....and then nothing. iTunes says: "Your activation requires additional time to complete". It's been saying this for 3 hours. An hour ago I call AT&T and they toss me back and forth between Apple people and AT&T people (the Apple people being the most understanding and friendly) for an hour, with the only conclusion being - the activation servers were being redone over the weekend and they were supposed to be back...try again later.

Here I am...a half dozen restarts, hard restarts, DFU restores later with a potential 3.0 firmware, original iPhone THAT ISN'T ACTIVATED!!!

Anyone have any thoughts?

I finally received an email saying that activation is complete. The phone is restoring now with my most recent backup...lets see if the 3.0 GM firmware stuck.

Total phone downtime 5 hours...on a non-launch day.

Best of luck to all you come the 17th!
