I bought my iphone on launch day from an AT&T store, this morning when i heard about the price drop i visited an apple store to find out about a refund and they told me no.

I then called 611 and spoke to a CS rep for AT&T, she told me no rebate as i was outside the offer window, which is aug 23rd onwards.

I asked to speak to a manager. When i got to him he told me that i could not get a rebate, but as i was a good customer he would knock $200 off of my bill.

So, be polite, ask nicely, and maybe you will get it too. Its not the same as cash but $200 is $200.

I just returned from the AT&T Store. I bought TWO iPhones, one 5 days ago and one 7 days ago.

She told me that they will reach their decision by tomorrow morning after a meeting they are holding, and I can ask them then.

I hope I'll be able to get my refund, 400$ extra in 7 days feels really bad :S.

Tried, but no luck :'( Will try again tmrw or so. Now I'm trying email them and see what they say. Good luck to everyone.

I bought 2 from AT&T and dealt with the refund transaction at the Apple Store. It went smoothly.

Did u buy it on the launch day? Or did you just buy it recently (within the last 14 days)?
Congrats

We bought the iday +1. The day after :)

Wow, congrats on the refund. Do you mind telling me how you got that? I'm gonna call Apple up tmrw. If you don't feel like telling, it's ok, I understand. If you want to you can PM me. I'd really appreciate it.

Deceived

I am a hardcore apple fan, and in a way I do not care about paying the 600 for the phone the day it came out because it shows how dedicated I am to Apple, but come on... Two months? That is the most ridiculous goof up in the technology world I have ever heard... I am spiteful, but grateful... I know that sounds weird, but believe it...

Friggin' apple... If there is one thing I should know from experience is to wait to buy any of their products because they go and change them on you within a matter of months... It is almost wrong to buy their stuff at all because soon you will be left in everyones dust once they buy the updated hardware three months later...

I am sad... :-(
