My phone is unlocked but I am an AT&T customer. My original iphone has the ****ed up headphone jack issue where it thinks any headphones are apple remote so it keeps pausing and skipping the tracks.
I'm getting a box mailed over because I'm under warranty. However, I unlocked with iLiberty when I went overseas over the summer. I didn't want 3 months of roaming bills. My phone shows no obvious signs of unlocking or jailbreaking (no installer, cydia, looks like a 1.1.4 phone which it is)

Will they check my firmware even if I'm a bill playing AT&T user with a hardware-only issue? Will they keep my phone and not send it back to me, brick it and send it or just fix it? I am aslo supposed to get a loaner phone. Will they not give me that if they see the firmware? How does the whole thing work anyway?

Should I re-virginize? Can you even do that if you unlocked the simlock?

i am pretty sure they will check the firmware. At the apple stores they say that they update your phone to the newest firmware when they service it so they will probably try to update it when you send it in.

Install stock 2.1 and they will never know. If you downgraded your bootloader, then you should put the original back first.

sorry sorry sorry but isn't installing 2.1 now going to brick it for sure? Or do you mean after revirginizing? How would I re virginize it and change the bootloader
