Carrier AT&T iPad Pro Cellular Question

So I grabbed an iPad Pro 12.9 (2020 Version) from AT&T earlier this year on an installment plan, and since the announcement of the new iPads, I decided to go ahead and pay it off. Are the iPads unlocked if sold through AT&T? I wiped it and removed my cellular plan from it but when I go into cellular data, it only shows AT&T. Is this locked to AT&T or is it unlocked to be used with other carriers? It does not have a SIM card either.

It's locked to AT&T if you didn't buy the unlocked model.

Thanks for the info, they said that there is an unlock process to get it to work on other carriers, I didn't think they were locked since its e-sim.

Yeah iPads are not carrier locked like smartphones, all models are unlocked
