AT&T iPhone exchange

Will AT&T stores not do hardware exchanges if something is wrong with an iPhone? I thought I read that they won't since they only deal with the phone part of the iPhone

Few AT&T stores do exchanges for any type of phone. It's almost always eXchange By Mail (XBM), where they FedEx you a phone and you send yours back.

Being an Apple product though, iPhone exchanges are handled directly by Apple, not AT&T.
