Other AT&T No Applecare or IUP with it?

Going on round three of IUP and noticed I could get the Xs Max from ATT with their annual upgrade program and they don't make you get AC, so it's $9 less per month. I haven't used AC under IUP once in three years.

Thoughts? Am I missing something under the ATT plan that is a show stopper?

I order via ATT every year from the apple site (via the store app) with no issues. Only downside I can think of is that someone who does IUP might be able to order a minute or two faster because they already got approved and put all their details in. For what it's worth, I have always ordered within the first 10 - 15 minutes and got it on launch day.

I do not get AC at all. Instead I opt for an Otterbox case + gorilla glass screen protector which comes out to less than $100 and I've never had any issues (one time the gorilla glass did crack but because of their warranty it was replaced for free).

I order through AT&T too and I go for AC+ just because I hate cases and protectors and always rock my iPhones naked. I have yet to use it though but I like being covered just in case. I've been lucky I guess because I have dropped my iPhones a few times they just don't crack.
