So I go the PAYG GoPhone and activated it online on the AT&T website, and I got my phone number, pin and all that other stuff.

I put it in the iPhone and it says no service still... so I call up AT&T and the lady said that I have to wait till I cross the border (cause I'm in Canada currently), and then it will start working...

I did NOT activate the iPhone using iTunes.

And it was locked as well, and all I saw was slide for emergency.

Wouldn't you need to unlock and activate before using a non-iphone sim?

I think all AT&T sim cards are the same...

When I put it in, when the phone was locked, I connected it to iTunes to see if I can do it that way, and it was working up until the point it asked for a US Credit Card...

It wouldn't even direct me to that page if the Sim Card didn't work on the iPhone, so I'm assuming that it does.

All you have to do is activate the bugger. ZiPhone or iNdependence will do that for you in a heartbeat. I use mine as a GoPhone; works great, but no Visual Voicemail. Then again, Visual Voicemail isn't exactly worth about an extra $40 a month to me :p
