Maybe it's been discussed before, but I just got an 8 GB iPhone and I really love this thing. When I activated it and turned it on I had 4-5 bars all through my house the whole night. I woke up and I had (and still have) the "No Signal" at the top left. What could be the reason for the quick change in service? Is this something that can be fixed in software updates? Oh yeah, I noticed when I had a good signal bars would rise and fall a lot. I hope this gets fixed...

The tower nearest you could be down.

Does the phone show bars when you go out and elsewhere?

It still shows some bars throughout the house but not nearly as good as they were last night. Signal gets a little stronger outside. I hope its software related so it can be fixed sooner than later. Posted from iphone

I've said this before, but I don't know if it's ATT/iPhone specific - it ALWAYS happens to me with Sprint, I can go from full service to zero and watch it pulse. Worse yet, I can have 3 bars and not be able to place a phone call. It;s a problem with a lot fo devices I believe...who knows if it can be fixed.

lots of things going on there, could be environmental (heat, humidity, storms, etc) or as already stated, the tower could be bouncing or having issues. Who knows!?

lilliedesigns, you are probably in a cross section where many PNs from multiple towers are available to your phone. The Sprint network is handing you (continuously even, depending on network conditions) to some of the other available towers with varying mobile receive powers, hence your seeing the 'signal strength' fluctuate.

Apple, try not to cradle your iPhone because the antenna is in the middle back of the phone.

I do not cradle the phone when using it AND the reception is 3x better.

When I do cradle it, I get very little to none.
