AT&T's (USA) MMS due Sept 25th, who will keep the benm/michaeljohnston hack....

Will you keep the MMS/Tethering hack or go with Legal MMS?

I'll stick with 3.0 until we find out if tethering is still an option...

I was thinking about this same thing, in fact i use tethering way more than i would ever use MMS, and with the hack, i can use both! So ill probably keep the hack because it makes tethering free...which is an extra 30$ a month...for moving the screen on my iphone...to my computer...30$ a month for that, i dont think i should be paying for the same thing twice.

Edit - Chose keep the hack for none of the above reasons because OP failed at having an MMS and Tethering option with the hack.
 
I'm no expert on this, but I have a feeling the current hack will work, seeing as others have success with both MMS and tethering with it. If not, a new one will be made, and it will be much easier since it's officially enabled on AT&T's end..
 
Keep the hack.

My understanding with this is that it should be a carrier file update that enables it, as that's what the hack has. As long as we know what the settings should be, we enter those in, and we should have MMS. if we jump to the new carrier file, we lose all of it, so I'd rather keep tethering from the hack, and find out what we need to set for MMS.

It's not the settings that they will give us, it's the fact they will ALLOW accounts with iphones to receive MMS. There is basically a little switch on every account that when flipped, you get MMS. That little switch being enabling WAP Push in Snooper. If you havent noticed, there are hundreds of settings that work, it's just because they dont have the block on the account which will be lifted on the 25th of this month.
 
anyone know if 3.1 is coming out the same day?

if so, i guess we all waiting, unless we can already JB 3.1

Im going to surely enjoy having MMS, but got use to using emails.
 
MMS started working for me yesterday with the hack i installed and have been using tethering on since april. I put the hack on all the other 4 iphones on my account 2 3gs and 3 g and mms works on all of them. running 3.0
 
i will obviously continue using pdanet as its been working perfectly and is far less trackable..
that should be added to the poll
 
Beings that I don't need tethering and will worry about it if I need it I'll go with the legit. I would imagine that Tethering would be simple to enable since that has been the feature consistently working and not a headache like MMS. If there is a carrier file hack after the legit MMS that enables Tethering, then I'll mess with it.
 
Im still on 3.0 with Tethering & MMS working perfectly. Unless this new update does something great im keeping my phone the way it is.
 
+1 ^^^ Despite the eminent release of 3.1, I'll wait until a new jailbreak and then continue to use the hack. AT&T totally sucks in so many ways; time for a new competitor to offer better everything. C'mon Verizon jump on this bandwagon....
 
My phone has the tethering option, however there are no hacks installed. I find it rather odd. I did try the benm one a while back but removed it. This was before the 3.0 update as well. As of now, I have tethering and no IPC files loaded or anything. :confused:
 
I think I'm gonna keep 3.0 mainly because of tethering. It's just way too handy for me.
 
I'm sticking with the 3.0 until the tethering thing is sorted out! I am a DJ who likes to take requests and it's VERY convenient to be able to tether and download the song from itunes if I don't have it already. :) :) :)
