AT2: Not all songs by Artist show up.

While looking for music by an Artist, using either the "Artist" browsing menu, or the Search option, my AT2 will not show a song by that artist, if they are not also the album artist.

I have an album by Bruno Mars, and he is also listed as an artist on a Soundtrack, who's Album Artist is "Various Artists".

Searching, or browsing by Artist using Bruno Mars, that song on the Soundtrack album will not show up in the results.

This is probably iTunes related, because if I choose to sync "Bruno Mars" to my iPhone, that song on the soundtrack doesn't get sync'd either.

This isn't a problem on iTunes itself, searching by the name brings up everything.

Is there an option I'm missing somewhere to make it behave intuitively. Or is this another "feature" of iTunes I have to live with?

for compilation albums, the "album artist" field should be blank.

But won't that cause the album to be split up on the hard drive?

No, because there is more than one artist on the album iTunes puts the album into a folder called "Compilations"

no, as for that album you would have "part of compilation" ticked on each track.
