I have a PowerMac G4 400 and I want to add another hard drive. The system is an ata/66.

will ata/100 and ata/133 drives work in a ata/66 bused system? (they use the same cable)?

Does anybody know a great place to purchase?

As far as I know, ATA-100 or ATA-133 should work. They work in every G3 and G4 I've owned. Is this an actual G4 or an upgraded earlier machine (like a beige G3 or something)?

Yes, as long as you use a 125GB (not sure exact size) drive, or smaller.

There is an address issue limiting the size that the older ATA interfaces can see.

If you want a drive larger than 127GB, you will need a new ATA 100/133/etc. card or an SATA card.

Otherwise they are pretty much, set the jumpers, and plug them in.

Note: Larger drives will work, but be limited to 127GB when formatted.
