Hello everyone!
I'm tempted to buy aText for my Mac and Windows machines, but haven't figured out the developers licensing model yet (neither from his website, nor has he replied to the mail I sent him in this regard). Has anyone of you purchased aText lately and, if yes, can you tell me whether the license is user-based (= can be installed on multiple computers as long as they're mine) or on a per-machine basis?
Cheers,
Daniel

Are you sure you want to go ahead with this developer's products if he is not even responding to sales queries? How do you think the service will be when you have purchased the product?

Well, the alternative would be using TextExpander for $4.16 per month...

That software is constantly evolving, and has a passionate community as well, if I am not wrong. The price would seem steep, but help will always be at hand when you need it. I do not use either, but if I were to, I would not buy an app that seems almost abandoned.

I don't think aText is abandoned given that the latest version is from September 2020...

That is reassuring. Wait for developer's response, or send another email. Probably this one went into their Spam folder. Who knows!

I have aText installed on multiple machines (4), no per-machine licensing is enforced. I like the simplicity of aText and don't need a subscription based TextExpander app for my needs.

Thank you @prometheus12, that's all I needed to know! Just bought aText and can't wait to customize the hell out of it :) Any tips and tricks by any chance?

For example, I know you can define a shortcut to paste text from the clipboard without formatting. Unfortunately, I haven't found out how to configure such a shortcut :(

Pasting the clipboard contents in plain text is easier than you might think. See image:
