Do we know anything about the 5670 that is available in the new iMac? It looks like we have the complete lowdown on the 5750 but I have not seen much on the 5670. How would it compare to either the 4850 or 5750?

It's very likely a "Redwood" (desktop 56xx) based chip so either mobility 5650, 5730, 5750 or 5770. AFAIK we don't know any further specs yet because nobody has posted GPU-Z screengrab. It's faster than 4670 but 4850 and 5850 are still significantly better. Hard to say how much as we don't know which card it is

For what it's worth, I copied the following information from System Profiler running on a 21.5" at the Apple Store:

Looks like a definite step up over the previous iMacs, and is going to blow my existing HD2400 away completely. Definitely a nice card for the 21" :)

Thinking about it though, how does it compare feature wise to the 5750? Obviously that's going to be faster, but is there any appreciable difference between the two in terms of what's going to be used in games a year from now?

So, the 5670 has a faster core but slower and smaller memory than the 5750 upgrade. Does anyone yet know what the net difference is, then?

It's only 26W so again, it has OC capability as 4670 is 35W so I would expect 800MHz core speed without issues[/QUOTE]

I don't know much about OC, admittedly. Is it advisable when bootcamping in the confined space of the iMac? Particularly the 21.5"?

5750 is actually mobility 5850. Specs:

Pipelines 800 - unified
Core Speed * 625 MHz
Shader Speed * 625 MHz
Memory Speed * 2000 MHz
Memory Bus Width 128 Bit

ATI Mobility 5730 specs:

Pipelines 400 - unified
Core Speed * 650 MHz
Shader Speed * 650 MHz
Memory Speed * 800 MHz
Memory Bus Width 128 Bit

So, 5850 has twice the pipelines and faster memory. Slightly slower core and shader though. According to the benches, 5850 seems to be ~30% (just quick math in my head) faster than 5730 is.

The 4670 fits there fine and it's 9W hotter so it should be safe to OC the 5730 because of its low power consumption. How much, I don't know yet. Someone has to try it

Not sure about the past graphic cards but i received a 21.5 3.2 5670 gpu imac yesterday and i am very happy with the performance:)
Just had a quick go at crysis in 1080p all settings high without any slow down. looks the business!!!!

Will post a video tomorrow showing gameplay to give you an idea.

oh, and also a trackpad! amazing how much easier it is to use than the mouse supplied with the mac.

Tried Starcraft 2? What kind of FPS did you get with Crysis?

The small part that i have played has been smooth. Might have problems later on if more is happening on screen but time will tell. I think some of the settings could come down a little if it started to stutter without it looking bad. As for any other games, i don't have any, so would have to find demos online somewhere Any ideas were to find them?
