i dont see what the big difference is, Im thinking about making the leap to Mac from a PC, (i have some background of macs cause my cousin is a extreme left wing MAC man) and i love the screens on the new imacs... I do play the occasional Game like WoW and this game called wolf team, but i want something that will be able to handle Diablo 3/ star wars the old republic. whats the difference between the different video cards at both 256 DDR3... do you guys think the 2 base models of the imac can handle it? I want to make the leap so bad but i cant afford the more expensive Imacs. for over 1,000 i really hope they can handle it... cause you can get a pretty badass PC set up for less then a grand (please dont flame im still learning!)

PS: i LOVE mac os!

so i guess both are kinda junk when it will come to diablo 3 + SW: the old republic?

Please note that GPU 9400M is actually modified for desktop and is sometimes referred to as 9400M (g), which is a bit different than what apple is using on their laptops.

When it comes to Blizzard, they always make games that older hardware will be able to handle. Diablo is mainly single player game with an option to go online, but only with limited amount of people on the server. Thing with wow is that it gets laggy sometimes due to crowded areas. Remove that aspect from the game and I am sure any computer can handle it.

So if budget is your concern, I say go for 9400 option. However, $300 upgrade over 3 years of computer life is well...nothing. Its the initial :apple: shock you have to get through first. After that, you just enjoy it and never look back :D

All m designated GPUs are mobile variants. Apple uses the 9400m (g).

For the record, I am extremely impressed with the HD4670. On my 21.5" iMac, I'm running WoW @ 1920x1080 with everything maxed out. I'm getting very good frame rates even in Dalaran. Lets say about 70fps average ...

I'm a very happy camper!
