So I just listened to Bohemian Rhapsody Atmos mix on the 14 inch Macbook Pro. Blown away by how great the Atmos sounds.

Give it a go, make sure you are not in clamshell mode (obviously) and sitting right in front of it.

Edit: i don't think it works from the browser. So look for the "Hit's in Spatial Audio" playlist on apple music and find the track there.

Atmos makes songs sound like demo tracks, just tried it and it sounds worse also speakers lack highs like on the 2019 intel ones

Tried changing tracks or playing with Sound Enhancer while playing? I'm getting some MAJOR pops and chirps.

Does spatial audio work with AirPods Pro on the new MacBooks? Sorry to kind of change the subject.

@Kylo83 How much are you being paid to just sit on MacRumors and troll for Intel or something? Seriously, I just came here for research and I see your comments on EVERYTHING, posting every day, since it launched. I hope you’re getting paid otherwise you’re seriously obsessed and need to get a life.

Return your system and move on. Us working professionals in the video and photo industry who actually use these machines for WORK, are thrilled with Apple listening to our feedback from SD card slots to no Touch Bar, to compromising weight and thickness for true performance upgrades. You are nearly alone in your thoughts on this. No one is buying it. Dear god, get a life brother. Your opinion is greatly outweighed so clearly it’s not for you.

Yes it does. Worked on 2020 MBP also.
Yeah I was only using Apple Music and it wasn't working. Everything else like appleTV+, YouTube is working when I finally tried those. Then I see there is a thread that Spatial Audio and apple music on the Mac is not working.

There are many tracks across Apple Music that sound lacking with Dolby Atmos enabled. Bohemian Rhapsody is NOT one of them. It has that "wow" factor & sounds great! Meanwhile, tracks like The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" lacks punch & intensity. Same with Fallout Boy's "Sugar, We're Goin Down." The Atmos-ified version sounds like the band was recorded from the hallway or something. On my 2019 16", Atmos didn't sound as wanting yet in every other respect the speakers on the new 16" MacBook Pro sound better, have more bass, and are louder. So I chalk it up to Apple Music. Or maybe it's a software issue?

Hello. I am getting into this atmos malarky with the built in speakers. Might sound like a stupid question but how do you know if you are meant to be getting atmos and are acually getting atmos. I have come to learn that the streaming apps tell you but seem to be different depending on where you look. I have look at bobba fret on Disney plus. It states atmos on the tv app but not the sky q app or on safari on the MBP. I am wondering incase you aren't getting atmos in case you have week wifi or something. I know on the Air pod pros it says in the control centre so wondered if there is anything for the built in speakers.
