I have the ATT Prepaid Plan with the SIM card and will be switching over to the 15 Pro with eSIM. Anyone have experience with this?

it looks like at&t sells eSIM prepaid activation cards. I would assume you could convert your physical SIM to an eSIM on your current phone, and then when you get the 15, it should transfer and activate like any other normal eSIM.

I found some directions online. Hopefully they work.

I had a lot of difficulty last year converting my pre-paid AT&T sim to e-sim and again this year just transferring my e-sim. The tool to transfer the e-sim wouldn't work so I had to call again. He added all of the phones info to my account but it was stuck on the "activating" even though it showed as active on his side.

My steps from last year worked again this year. When it's activating, forget the wifi network and restart the phone. Reconnect to wifi. If it still doesn't work, restart the phone again. Worked the 2nd time for me.

The instructions didn’t work so I had to call to have ATT activate the eSIM. They were helpful and quick.

The built-in eSIM transfer feature definitely didn’t work for AT&T Prepaid last year, but it started working fine earlier this year when one of my friends upgraded to a 14 Pro. And today, I had no problem transferring my AT&T Prepaid eSIM from my 14 Pro to my new 15 Pro Max. I simply chose the Add eSIM option with my 14 Pro next to the new phone, and I was able to select my phone number. The transfer started right after I confirmed on my 14 Pro.

Nice! My wife gets her new phone Monday, we’ll see if she gets lucky or not
