alot of parents use it to talk to their kids, because its a push of a button rather than dialing.

The story is like this: When Cingular released Push To Talk, they had one phone that supported it. No one wanted Push To Talk in the first place.
That's why Cingular Push To Talk is failing/failed and will not be on the iPhone. But they still support it..

That would drive me nuts if I was a kid being constantly available to my parents like that. A little separation is good from time to time.
As far as PTT goes....when I got my cell the info sheet on the various plans I could choose from (from Cingular) said "Push-to-talk: Add $16/month". That's absurd. I can see how it never took off.

$16 LOL nvm then, most of the phones ive had are PTT compliant, even the Motorola L6 had a PTT button.
oh well.
What phones that AT&T currently has even supports PTT? Most people I know who use PTT are in construction and find it useful as a walkie talkie, and they all have Sprint/Nextel
