Hey Everybody,

I found a workaround to the iPod nano 3rd gen "attached accessory" screen lockdown. Make sure that your iPod is unlocked and connected. Start your car. Then….

1) Press the menu button an center button simultaneously.
2) Hold for 5 seconds till the screen goes blank and the Apple icon comes up.
3) Count to 10.
4) Repeat 1).
5) Hold for 2-3 seconds and release.
6) Wait for 5 seconds.
7) The Apple icon will disappear and the menu screen will pop up. Normal functioning will resume with the memory intact.

This will last until your iPod is disconnected. You will have to repeat this every time you start your car. Enjoy. Take care.

This post helped.
I've a nano 6g with the attached accessory problem in the car.
Just Start car then Hold volume - and wake button till ipod resets.
Ipod functions now work.
Yay
