"Please find attached our logo. The text for the advert will follow shortly". (note the .bmp format).

This nearly made me laugh as much as when I had a client ask if there were any limits on colour and I said "Yes, you may only use Pantone Warm Red, Pantone Reflex Blue and Black."

The artwork that followed was full colour with a red car, a blue car and a black car on it.

Sometimes all you can do is laugh (or cry).

At least they gave you the hi-rez BMP version, not the animated GIF version :D

But seriously that it EPIC, best thing I've read all day

I would have asked if the jaggies are part of the design.

Or whatever the diplomatic non-judgemental term for "jaggies" is.

Wow, some businesses are completely clueless. I'm no business expert but if I saw a logo like that I'd instantly assume the company had no clue what they were doing and assume it was some mom and pop store.

Sadly that is soooo common - even in big companies.

Can you believe it took us 3 weeks and 5 times the same pixel logo until we got a propper vector logo from a major international fashion label?

Also I love it when they just resave the tiny jpg as an eps and send the same thing again.

That's why I don't ask for an eps anymore, I ask for a vectorized version and explain briefly what this means. But that doesn't help too often.

I've dealt with this before, and honestly, it's just easier rebuilding the logo yourself properly and charging it on their invoice. No complaints here.

Ooh, the jpg as EPS file! I love that route. One time, after several emails with an international company, I thought I had explained what a vector logo was....and I got a screenshot... of their website... that had been 'traced'... into about 5000 clipping masks.
