Ok this is what happened.
wife was watching a video on the external drive and wanted to FF through something. ATV hung, she unplugged and when it rebooted, she heard the reboot noise/music but the picture went all wacky.

I did some trouble shooting. I can ssh to the ATV, so everything is there. I reboot, see the apple logo, music...then the picture goes wonky. I am thinking that on the hang/crash the ATV switched output to something other than a normal TV mode. I am using an older TV that has component video inputs.

ATV is 3.0.2 using the most recent patch stick.

IF the ATV switched output from normal to HD, how do you switch it back w/o a restore? Would the restore be the easiest? All the files are backed up so not afraid of a restore.

On another note, we have been having a frequent amount of hanging w/ the ATV is that normal? We just got it and I hacked it, still trying to figure everything out to be honest.

Thanks

Aaron,

I wish I had a newer TV than the one you mentioned. My TV has component but is 480 only.
