All Apple items have most recent software

Ripped loads of movies with handbrake, all to same settings.

One movie copies to itunes, will play in itunes but when sent to ATV2 there is no video. (this movie is very current but I have another current movie that is fine - both obtained in mkv. format from same source and ripped with HB)

I can play the movie on my iphone with Airplay (movie not on iphone but is streamed from itunes on Mac)

Try to Air play the movie to ipad and again no video. Try to sync the movie to ipad but message saying wont copy to ipad as movie will not play on ipad.

Not too fussed about putting or receiving movie on the ipad but would welcome comments on all this and if any idea how to get video with ATV2 as I want to watch movie on the big screen.

Have seen that maybe a rollback to last weeks ATV2 software might help?

Just read that you can ask Itunes to create version for ipad and ATV - trying this now but seems strange as other movie worked

I'm having a similar issue. Latest version of everything on everything. Watch any movie or TV show from the iTunes library on my iPod works fine, but tell it go to aTV2 and I get audio, but no video.

Play the video direct from aTV2 and it works.

Not hugely bothered because I feel it's a bit of a gimmick but it's a nice feature to show off to friends :)

Is this playing the video through the standard apple apps, not 3rd party ones?

I know with applications like plex and other third party ones havent had video implemented yet, because apple have only just released the API's to devs.

the movie is in itunes, computer connected via ethernet to atv2 and no video, just sound on this one movie, all the rest are fine and ripped with same settings. Was using 'universal 'setting on handbrake and now trying with appletv 2 setting.

For me, everything is pure Apple. Nothing along the way is jailbroken. I thought AirPlay streamed video, am I correct? Am I trying to do something that can't be done?

Because the airplay API's havent been released to devs that long, most havent implemented the video API into their apps yet....... the sound ones apparently just work.

They'll get done, in time...... Im waiting for plex to get done
