ATV 2G US/Europe differences?

Hi all,

I'd like to buy an ATV 2G. I currently live in Frankfurt and could pick one up at the Apple store but I'd heading back to the US (US citizen) in Jan and could pick one up then as well.

Will the US-Spec version work with my German TV? Also, are there any hardware differences that I need to know about?

I'm considering getting a US NetFlix account and a US-based VPN service, so I could rent streaming movies (I still have US credit cards with US addresses). If I buy a EU-spec version, will NetFlix automatically reject it?

Finally, should I just jailbreak the think and/or just run other software on it to circumvent these issues?

Hardware is identical, it's all down to location (same as with iTunes). Link it with a US iTunes account and you'll get the US store, Netflix etc.

it comes with a different plug - that's the only difference.
