ATV 3 Remote Burning Through Batteries

My Apple TV 3 remote stopped working 2 weeks after my purchase. I replaced the battery, thinking perhaps it was low. Once replaced it worked fine for another week, then nothing. I can use the remote app on my iPhone and iPad and it works fine. Any suggestions?

bad remote, take it to the store and have them replace it.

I have 2 ATVs for a long time and they are still rocking the original batteries.

My atv2's battery just ran out. Lasted about 8 months of almost everyday use.
