Have a new ATV that I received as a gift. Have it set up and it is working. Thinking of loading Boxee; have done a lot of reading on what Boxee can and can not do; but I still need a few questions answered.
After Boxee is loaded; I'm assuming that Atv's interface is gone completely? Can it be brought back if something goes wrong? Can Atv's hard drive be read and files/folders added or deleted?

Thanks in advance!

The standard UI will not be gone. Boxee will run with its own UI in the foreground.
Once you stop it, you come back to that standard Apple UI.
You can easily remove the Boxee plugin if you don't like it .

To play non-itunes files you can use a plugin called ATVFiles.

There is a free solution and a commercial solution which gives you mre options, such a twitter integration, openvpn, bittorrent etc.

Thanks for you quick response. That is what I wanted to know.

Still would like to know about the Atv hard drive. Does it become visible and manageable after the installation of Boxee?

I suppose I'll find out after I do the install. I'm hoping that it will be visible!

Just finished playing with Boxee. Installation was easy and I think that I will be happy with it. Obvious though that I can not access the files on the Atv. No problem there; just was hoping that i could. I have one other issue; but I will start a new topic for that,
