Wondering if somebody could give me a yes / no about this setup:
I have an old-school (circa-2001) Panasonic Tau CRT television CT-32HX40. It has component inputs and some documentation says it's HDTV capable of handling 480p and 1080i signals, though the available online documentation is a bit sketchy and I've seen the 480 listed as 480i + 480p and also just 480i. The owner's manual gives no reference of the actual specifications. The TV itself is branded "1080i-Ready" on the front panel.
So, I purchased a stand-alone HDMI / Component converter box to mate it with ATV2. The converter YPbPr output format is listed as 480i / 576i / 480p / 576p / 720p / 1080i / 1080p.
Everything connected and powered up in the correct order, but no picture on the TV. I've run through through the setup a few times and tried every input configuration offered on the TV, all with no picture. There's a note on the converter packaging that says "Some traditional CRT Displays may not work with this converter. This is mainly caused by these Displays only supporting 480i and 576i YPbPr interlaced resolution."
So, I'm wondering if there's anything further I can do to test this out or if I'm just plain outta luck with it (?)
