Ok, so this is going to be obvious, I am a new mac user so, I am struggling with some of the basics.

I had my atv hooked up to my old wireless router while I waited for my macbook to come in. Once my macbook came in, I swapped out the old router for the airport extreme. I changed the network connections in atv to the new network. I am able to see movie trailers and such, and after a call into the apple help line, I was able to get my movies (that were bought on atv) to sync back onto the tv, from my itunes library (for some reason, when I synced it on the old system, it took it off the atv).

So, my problem now is I cant get my itunes to stream my music. I go to computers and "add a shared itunes library", but I cant get itunes to show up with the password entry page. Can someone please help?

Also, do I have to go thru this every single time I want to stream. This has been causing me problems since I got it (no doubt, user error), and I love it when its doing what I want to it to do at the moment, but when I try to change it, I just get frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even a good website with step by step instructions for this dummy would be great. Thanks

I know I had a problem like this but it was pretty specific. I had my Apple tv connect by wireless and my computer connected to my router by ethenet. For some reason it wouldnt make the connection. A soon as I turned my wirless on my mac on it would find it.

If its not like this just try process of elimination on the steps to connection. By this I mean standby your apple tv. Shut down your computer, start it, open itunes, then try to connect apple tv maybe two minutes later.

or any combination until it gives results.

Otherwise.. I'm unable to help.

You shouldn't have to do this. Syncing really means 'syncing plus streaming'.

It sounds like your Apple TV and your Mac are already talking together. If your music isn't showing up, make sure that "Show only the synced items" box on the Apple TV Summary page in iTunes is not checked.
