We recently purchased our first home, and I am planning on doing some remodeling in our living room. What I want to do is install a flat panel TV (still researching a model) in a recessed portion of the wall, and I want to have the components hidden in a closet in the hall way . My question basically is if I get a universal remote (like the harmony) does the ATV need to have a clear line of sight or can I have it hidden?

TV control

The only way you can put your TV hidden away is by getting a RF remote. Harmony makes a very nice one. I use it and it works great! If you get an IR remote, the TV must be insight of the remote. Hope this helps...

Or, if you have or are considering buying an iPhone or an iPod touch, you can use either of them as a remote.
