I have an apple tv and have had a Netflix subscription for a while. What does Hulu Plus have that netflix doesn't? I'm considering getting Hulu plus on my ATV but I need to know what it really offers.

To me the only advatnage is, you get the episode via Hulu a few hours after they air on TV, with netflix you have prior season, with Hulu you can get what just happend, and more.
Try it for free for a week, best way to explore anything is with a free trial and some time on the couch!

most of the shows they have will be available within a day after they air on TV.
Most of what you get is US broadcast, but they also have daily show and colbert.
Hulu will also have commercials. normally only one per break though, sometimes you get one big one at the beginning.
to truly evaluate hulu plus, you may want to wait a couple months till the broadcast television season ramps back up in the fall.

I thought hulu was useless I did the 7 day trial and was going to cancel before it ended but i forgot and they charged me. at first the air play mirroring was terrible and wouldnt stay in sync but I got used to it even tho the quality was eh. today when the channel was announced the quality is PERFECT even somewhat better then netflix. the commercials suck but they are not that bad. usually only 30sec-60sec at a time. about 4-5 per 1 hour. which adds up to about 3-4 minutes when most hourly shows have 15 minutes of commercials its not too bad.
Yes it does, you are paying for using the service on mobile devices and setup boxes, comercialess subscriptions would be more much expensive (like HBO and such subscriptions)
As far as what it offer, just go to Hulu.com and see what they got, as Hulu plus subscriber you will access to full seasons and episodes and most of them release a few hours after broadcast, the free version only allow 5 most recents and new episodes from some networks are delay a full week.
Well, I just got a chance to try out Hulu+ on my ATV3...so far it is pausing about every 15 seconds or so for about 30 seconds. I am chalking it up to their servers being overloaded on release day, but I might reevaluate my subscription after my 1 week trial if it doesn't improve by the end of it.
It's pretty funny how my wife and I were bickering over getting a Roku or ATV just because of Hulu+. I promised her that airplay with the ipad2 would be just fine with H+... well, it sucks if you haven't tried it. There are so many bugs with the hulu app that it makes it impossible to get through an episode without having to restart the app at least twice.

what a sleeper announcement. I think that this is great news. We use Netflix for movies, and Hulu+ for TV shows. If HBO Go came to ATV, we'd only have the TiVo in the living room, the other two tv's would just have ATV's, and get rid of the other box.
Considering that I've been ripping our DVD collection like a mad man, (BDs are next) and I can almost see us not using anything but ATV in the bedroom soon. Office TV only has an ATV.
