Currently, when I need to switch off my Atv and keep it, I just switch off the mains and pull the plug. I am just curious if there is a "proper" way to turn it off, and if my current actions might damage it in any way? I am doing this 1-2 times a day on average.

The context is that I am a school teacher using the Atv in my classroom, so I typically keep it after lessons for security reasons and as a power-saving measure. There doesn't seem to be any sort of "off-switch" of any kind.

Thanks all for your advice. :)

Unplugging it is just fine. No damage to the unit, supply is design for that, and iOS can handle the recovery just fine.

yeah its fine but when its not being used it uses less power then a night light,

less then 3cents on your hyrdo bill,

but no they way your are doing it is just fine, and a good seqcurity measure,

Settings>Sleep

You can put it to sleep from settings, or set it to sleep after a certain length of time. Might save some wear and tear on the plug :).
