Both ATV and iPad logged in as same iTunes account, so how do I access the TV shows bought via ATV?

Try going to your iTunes account and look under "Store". At the bottom of the "Store" list, look for "Check for Available Downloads". Click on that and see if your movie isn't listed. If it's not, check "Purchased". You should be able to download from there.

When you download a movie straight to the ATV, it never gets downloaded to your computer, so it can't be distributed. That's why when you rent a movie on the ATV, you can only watch it on an ATV. Once you download it, you shouldn't have any problems opening it.

Hope this helps

thanks, so I still have to use my PC in order to get the tv shows on my ipad? I thought the icloud pushed everything to all devices?

Cagle, the way I understand it is that you can go to "Purchased" and download it individually on each device or download it once on your Mac and let it get distributed from there.

I know for a fact, that if you RENT and download a movie on ATV, that movie will only play on an Apple TV. There's even a warning that now comes up to that effect when you rent a movie.
