ATV2 and 1080p video juddering

Hey all,

I've used mkvtools to turn a 1080p mkv (with a bitrate of around 11mbps) into an MP4. It plays on an ATV2, but it's juddering pretty much every other second. Is this a problem with 1080p content, the bitrate, or could it be something else? The same file plays fine on my laptop without any juddering…

Though some people have had success, the ATV2 specs don't support 1080p video. I think you'd get better results with a lower bit rate, but then that means re-encoding, so you might as well change the resolution to 720p.

Yea, don't bother with 1080p on the Apple TV it just doesn't have the guts to play it back.

the Apple TV 2g, iPad and iPhone 4 is compatible only profile 3.1!!!
