ATV2 and the iPad

So are there any features specific to the 2nd gen Apple TV and the iPad-2 or all iPads the same as far as the Apple TV is converned?
I'm thinking of getting the ATV2 but I've only got an iPad-1 and don't want to be surprised.
 
Only iPad 2 can AirPlay Mirror to the ATV2, i.e. reproduce everything that's on the iPad screen on the ATV2. The iPad 1 can AirPlay compatible video files but doesn't Mirror via AirPlay. Everything else should be the same.

The documentation says something along the lines of being able to mirror "Airplay enabled" websites.
Anyone know exactly what that means?
My wife has a subscription to the Discover Education website and she can access it through Safari but how would we know it it was Airplay-enabled?
