I have had my ATV2 for about a month now and wondered if there was any chance that the BBC iPlayer and maybe other streaming companies would be adding some more content to the menu within the UK?

Are there any rumours or official confirmations that would give me something new to look forward to?

In addition, I have noticed that the iTunes film list on ATV2 is slightly more restrictive than the film list on iTunes from my MBP. I know that this would probably be down to something like bandwidth problems or memory capacity at the iTunes server end, but is there any scope that this will be increased in due course?

I am suspecting not as the Apple current method is "encouraging" users to download a bought film from iTunes (at a higher cost) and then force the user to stream via AirPlay from the MBP, and thus increase the revenue generated.

Add on required really

Just got Apple TV last weekend and busy converting movies to suitable format. Thinking about how good it would be to be able to pay $8.99 like US Netflix members do and have access to streaming unlimited films. It would be fantastic and really bring the Apple TV into its own. I use Sonos and Napster for access to unlimited streaming music and providing the same for movies in the UK should be high on Apple's work agenda.
Here's hoping

If the atv2 had access to iplayer id buy one right away. Lovefilm streaming would be fantastic too, especially if lovefilm brought out some better value streaming only plans.

If Apple managed to get Sky Player on the ATV2 then it would be amazing for the UK. The Xbox 360 has it so why not the ATV2?
