ATV2 and Unraid

Has anyone tried using the new Apple TV2 and unraid server? I am interested in the new ATV2, but my data is all on the UNRAID box.


Also I have all of my files in a MKV format...any way to use them on the new ATV without converting them?

If the unraid files are playable in iTunes on the Mac you stream from (to the TV), AND they are in a format compatible with TV, they should play just fine. If you are seeking a way to play the files on the unraid without an iTunes connection, that's not doable (and not the unraid's fault). TV really wants a direct connection to iTunes running on a home system.

Maybe airplay will create a bit of wiggle room on this, but my bet is NOT.

If you want to keep them in MKV, you'll need to await a potential hack (I know of no such development). Or, you should use a program like Handbrake to convert them to a format that is compatible with TV. That is a pretty easy conversion, though, unfortunately, it is a conversion.
