Has anyone tried using the new Apple TV2 and unraid server? I am interested in the new ATV2, but my data is all on the UNRAID box.

Also I have all of my files in a MKV format...any way to use them on the new ATV without converting them?

If the unraid files are playable in iTunes on the Mac you stream from (to the :apple:TV), AND they are in a format compatible with :apple:TV, they should play just fine. If you are seeking a way to play the files on the unraid without an iTunes connection, that's not doable (and not the unraid's fault). :apple:TV really wants a direct connection to iTunes running on a home system.

Maybe airplay will create a bit of wiggle room on this, but my bet is NOT.

If you want to keep them in MKV, you'll need to await a potential hack (I know of no such development). Or, you should use a program like Handbrake to convert them to a format that is compatible with :apple:TV. That is a pretty easy conversion, though, unfortunately, it is a conversion.
