I have installed a Headroom Digital to Analog (DAC) coverter box in order to feed a Headroom headphone amp. The goal was to allow my wife to hear the external speakers while I (hearing impaired) used my headphones during ATV movies. The ATV's optical cord connects to my digital receiver then I have the audio digital out running to the DAC via optical cable then analog cable running to the headphone amp.

Here is the catch. ATV previews work perfectly; but when I select rent the sound in the headphones produces a "rattling feedback sound" rather than the clear audio I received during the previews! Is the ATV software perhaps "kicking in" a copyright protection loop since it may think I am trying to record the rental movies' audio track?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
