Apple TV atv2 jailbreak/vpn question.

Hey guys,

I'm looking into buying an ATV2, i plan on jailbreaking to get the XMBC app, and probably use the icefilms plugin for the most part. I would also like to utilize hulu... from what i'm reading i can use the bluecop repository to get hulu content via the XMBC app.


So then i guess the only hurdle i need to leap over is the whole VPN issue.... i'm not in the states.

I've read of some solutions:

1) paid service (unblock-us) =\

2) VPN on my computer (hotspot shield) and direct apple tv to that gateway? Can anyone explain this? or if this is even true/possible?

3) i thought i read somewhere that XMBC has a proxy setting, does that work at all?

Hi, I have used both setups myself and they both work well. I would recommend Unblock us for use with ATV, easy to setup and no loss in speed.

What operating system would you be using VPN on to bridge the connection? I did mine via my Mac.
