I have just purchased some tv shows and films from iTunes and they play fine on my computer, iPad etc but I can't get them to play on my ATV2. I just get the loading with a frozen frame of either the start of the film or where it was last payed on the computer. It seems to be stuff bought in the past few weeks that is affected but this may be coincidental.
I have tried updating my ATV2 to the most recent OS but still no change. Other content, both bought from iTunes and loaded on myself, plays fine with no problem and the affected films and tv shows seem to play on ATV over ICloud but this mean streaming them from the cloud every time I want to watch something rather than just from my laptop.
Is this likely to be an iTunes issue as I don't have iTunes 7 as I am only on osx.5 (my machine is an older MacBook Pro which will only run osx.6 max and I have ordered an upgrade to x.6 but it is taking a few weeks to arrive due to demand with the iphone5 launch!)
Just wondered if anyone else had this problem as a possible fix or if iTunes 7 may fix it when I finally get that through the post? Just seems an odd problem that it only effects some films, not others.
If it helps, affected tv shows include 'bad education' and films include 'boart' and 'Bruno' but 'the dictator' which I purchased at the same time as the other 2 plays absolutely fine.
