ATV2 only lights up when plugged into macbook

So, my ATV (2nd generation) has stopped working. It was working fine at night, tried it the next day and it doesn't seem to be working. I've tried other outlets, and it still doesn't light up.

However, I plugged it into my macbook and it lights up & iTunes recognizes it. I restored it, tried it with the tv again, and nothing. When it's plugged into the macbook the light is blinking rapidly.

Any suggestions?
